Where does the time go? October already - started out very rainy and icky for us but we are in store for a few days if not more than a week of beautiful autumn weather - just in time for all the Columbus Day craft fairs that will be :) Love this time of the year! I just am giving a quick little update on the store today - getting to be the busy time, thankfully. I truly appreciate all the business and new friends that I meet through my store, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your trust in my store. I try to provide good service, quality products and reasonable prices - Our time and money is precious so I am always mindful of these most important things! Lovely and Full ~ my younger son decided to plant these seeds in the spring ... to my surprise they bloomed! He scattered many and we got three nice size stalks - I love when they bloom! The bumbler's are on them pollinating away :) It is a sure sign of the fall months to come. Cooler temps for the week which I love especially when the kids are back in school ... I have not switched out my seasons yet ... don't know what I am waiting for! It's my favorite time, PumPkIns, CrOws, AuTuMn Colors and such - hopefully tomorrow :) I think I am just getting used to my kids being gone all day! My oldest is a Freshman now, he is liking the sort of "freedom" from middle school, so far so good :) He joined the Freshman Football team, broke his arm first day in pads - hopefully he will be back next week. My youngest, 7th grader, started school for the first time with no troubles :) He plays baseball for our local team here in Huntley ... he is loving his time on the mound. As for the Murph update - he had a good summer, playing in his pool and such. Last night he decided to take his own walk, well run, around the neighborhood - thank goodness for the neighborhood friends to get him back! He is still a pup...always causing some kind of mischeif!
Well for the store news, lots of new additions came in - always check under "Whats New" I try my best to keep it updated with the current season, one season ahead and everyday items. I rotate it out every month if not sooner. Please if you have not sign up for my store newsletter, It's a good way to stay in touch and see what I am up to - the holidays are coming and I will be doing some promotions. Don't worry I do not flood your inbox every week! I am lucky to get a newsletter out once every month! Eventhough we are in the Autumn months, please take a look over in winter - great santa's, snowmen and other holiday goodies - already a few things have been sold out for the season -

August over ... already? New Payment Plan For My Store

Uh oh ... sorry for the long delay between posts! This is a short one today - Just some store news ... As I am adding new Christmas/Winter and of course Fall I am keeping all my customers in mind - I want to make it as easy as possible for you to get what you would like without paying for it at once - I know many of us are struggling with the economy -- but we still love to decorate! So what I would like to offer is a payment plan if you wish to use it - simple as placing an order, don't pay, just comment in checkout section you want to make payments - I am flexible with whatever works for you - We can arrange a payment that works for you and however long you want it to be for. I will send you a bill through paypal, or mail a statement, with whatever amount we arranged - take up to 3 months to pay. You can pay through paypal, use e-check or even mail a check. Be careful with the holiday months to insure delivery - Example: You spend $70, you want to pay half now ($35) then divide the remainder over 4 weeks (approx $8 a week). Once the balance is paid in full your merchandise will ship out - I will notify you of any back-orders prior to shipping. I hope that this will work for us all. Please let me know if you should have any questions or problems. This is a new feature that I hope will ease everyone's pocket books. I only ask once the order is placed, I receive your first payment within 7 days.

New Fall Items are Arriving

Happy July to all my friends! Summer is going by so fast - it's been awhile since I posted anything new, I am sorry for that! I do hope your summer is going well - the heat has certainly turned on in my neck of the woods, but its summer and we are enjoying it. My oldest has graduated, and now is looking forward to Freshman year. He has joined the football team for the high school and is in the summer camp for it, ending this friday, I am proud he made it through the heat & the training, and lots more to come :) My youngest finished out baseball and is looking forward to fall baseball starting soon. His team came in fourth in the County, great moment for him. My Murphy is enjoying his first "real" summer, he was just a pup last year. He loves his little pool to cool off in, being outside and trapsing still through my flowers :( ... he is a good boy though.
As for the store, summer was busy, still is with Americana and other stuff going out - I am adding new fall, and slowly winter/Christmas will come. I am posting a few pics of my favorites. Please stop by the store when you have a chance to. I am going to be in the Country Sampler in September, well just the runner from last year is :) The Snowman Mantle Runner, it was and still is a highly popular item.

I am thrilled the weather is getting nicer - my flowers are looking great, my outside is coming together - little things make me happy :) ...

The pastry cloche's, available in two sizes and great for entertaining with and having in your kitchen for everyday use. The other is a shoe cobbler's nail tray, great for lots of little needfuls, use in a home office for your clips and such, or candies in your living area, or even little candle nubbies or rosehips. Happy Mother’s Day to All  I am especially blessed once again this year with my boys. Today my oldest & I had a nice day running some errands, having lunch, planting some flowers by my mom’s house and a trip to my favorite garden center ... my youngest was at Six Flags on a school field rip for band, which long story short we ended meeting him there late afternoon. I am hoping for some sunshine tomorrow ... have my mom/dad and mother-in-law coming for a early dinner...hoping to grill some chicken and such. After mass in the morning the children will probably take me to good ol’ McDonalds for breakfast, everywhere is just too crowded and with company coming over I hat e to be rushed. I hope your day will be a beautiful one.

For my outdoor news, I have a majority of my planting done in the pots and such and hope to take some pics to share this week. I won’t do too much in the ground for fear of the dreaded Murphy, he already got a hold of one pot today when we weren’t looking. ..of course I cried, a beautiful geranium shredded on the lawn dirt and all enjoyed by him ... he is a brat. I hope this week to start on some Americana decorating in the house, time for the bunnies and spring to go away. I love the red, white and blue!

Something about the Easter Season that brings such a sense of peace, it could be that I spend a bit more time praying about all the blessings in my life, Good and Bad. We all know things happen for reasons we don't know, but it is the strength from above that get us through them. Bittersweet with my boys, for they really don't think the bunny hops to our home anymore, but the baskets usually have some goodies waiting for them. The older boy, Zach, did not color eggs with me, x-box & his friends now has taken over that spot ... glad my younger one, Adam, still enjoys coloring egggs, (sigh). This morning it was nice that Zach accpmpanied me to church to have the food blessed, it has been a long tradition of mine to do this and I hope it will be passed along when the time comes. Both my boys participated in Holy Thursday mass, and my husband and I were Eucharistic Ministers, I love when the whole family is apart of the mass. Good Friday Zach was asked to serve the mass, I am very proud of him. But as he is getting older, he feels this will be his last year for Alter Serving ... (sigh).
Today is also Adam's first game ... finally the weather is cooperating ...let's go Yankee's! Very windy but at least 60 degrees ... storms, cool and cloudy conditions all week...so a little wind I guess will be fine. My Murphy update for this time around is he was very excited to have his first sleep over, we took in our friends Lab for the night ... they were very happy to be with each other....needless to say I would never want two dogs at a time :) Love them and very entertaining, but alot of work.
I bought my first pot of pansies, put them on the front step, and yep Murph went for them, he is a goat, not a dog...I will not be having many flowers this season for he will eat them all - he such a boy!
Tomorrow I will be having my family here for Easter, little Quinn will be here for his first Easter, can't wait. Good to have a new baby in the family.
The pictures I am sharing today are a few of the rearrangements I already did because I wasn't happy of course with how I set up the first time...lol.., a pic of Adam dying eggs, & of his pancake creation he made on his own, I think its a snowman ..LOL. and included a picuture of Murphy and Rory ... I think murph has his tongue out! You can tell who the puppy still is :)

All My Boys

The oldest is Sean my nephew that will be 17 in may (very hard to believe!), My two boys Zach (holding Quinn) and Adam ... and the new member, my great nephew, Quinn ~ a month old now ... he is beautiful ... My niece was able to make it over to spend some time with her Auntie Bobbie and cousins. Nothing like a new baby in the family :0) We will see him for Easter, which can't come quick enough, but maybe some shopping once the weather breaks. March is Ending...??

Wow ... Has it been that long since I blogged? What happened to March? Busy Busy I guess! Well on a personal note it has been busy in my house, a new baby in the family is bringing some joy - My niece made a visit this week with little Quinn, and brought her brother too! It just does not seem that long ago that I was the one picking them up (my niece and nephew) and having MY babies along! It was a very nice visit, just wish the weather was warmer to be outside.
The boys are on Spring break, so we just have been doing some things around the home, & they of course have been keeping busy with friends. Today was nice, just the three of us went to lunch & some shopping. FUN in my book, for them not so much.
The Murph update, hmmm.... he is a handful this week for some reason. Did a bit of destroying when I thought we were done with this puppy stuff. I no longer can dress my goose outside, for he tears off the clothes, even managed to drag the CEMENT goose of the step and put a nice crack in the neck. I no longer have an eye in one of my bird statues, and my sweet stuffed bunny is no more ... he unstuffed her and ate the leg and arm for dessert. Yes my Murphy reminds me he is still a puppy and do not turn my back on him :) Puppy classes though have been going well, go figure??
The youngest is starting his baseball season, hopefully more practices as the weather is starting to get a little better ... right Mother Nature? He is getting so much stronger, and has his eye on the mound for the season. The other son is starting his caddy training - let's hope that goes well, he is looking forward to a job and making some money this summer.
We are half-way through Lent and our promises of what we gave up - for me chocolate, donuts/cookies and such, well I cheated this past Sunday which they say its okay on a Sunday but I don't remember that rule growing up - It's not so easy when you NEED that piece of chocolate! But what got me was the nutcups at our parish mission! It was Sunday-Tuesday night, so Sunday was the only fall I had. The parish mission was very uplifing, a very nice renewal for us & really made us think about the important things in our lives...letting go and giving more spiritually.
My attention has also been going to a site that I learned about from Rock River Stitches Blog post, The Decorah Eagles ... so cool. Momma eagle is about to hatch her babies ... this is a live cam on a Eagles nest, there are three eggs - very interesting. Check it out when you have a chance to - just google Decorah Eagles and it is sure to come up.
Everything else is just fine otherwise. Looking forward, as all I am sure to some warmer weather.
For the store news, few new things, Spring is here, thinking about some Garden accents - the Daisy Stakes are in and just such a nice trio, & the Carrot Stakes are just so spring! Don't forget the Carrot Patch Runner, Egg Tree, Mini Eggs & a sweet set of Carrots for a spring lift. The everyday Wax Warmer, non-electric, is really a nice addition as well - All wax warmers are coming with a free tart too! March is Here!

Lovely Geranium Pot, filled with spanish moss. - how pretty and it won't die :)

Okay ... I can't believe it has been this long since my last blog post :( I am sorry! As for most February is a long month, eventhough it has only 28 days in it! Anyway looking forward to some springtime weather but I think we are still going to be waiting a few more weeks. For my personally, I have a new great nephew, Quinn, and he is a keeper! I have gotten to hold him once already and looking forward to the next time :) Yes, I am 40 and can't believe I have a baby from my niece! LOL. Anyway my children, hubby and pup are all doing A-OK. Basketball season is over, time for baseball (Yea!) my 11 year old is in pitching camp til "spring" practice can officially begin (please be a early spring!) ...both kids are doing well in school, Zach is a little more than half-way to graduation (8th grade) WOW to me! :) ... Murphy the pup, now 9 mo and a pistol will be starting school himself to work on some areas of need :) ... too smart, but he is a lab, has discovered if he is attached to the stake in the front yard, he should just dig it up to "run" free, I am glad we caught him in time from the huge hole he was about to dig in the front! He is starting to slowly "prune" my shrubs in the front seeing he took care of most of them in the back during the course of the winter. Please let my beautiful hydrangea come back to life :) ... anyway things are okay with my family... I do hope that all is well with you!

Now for the store news, I have not gotten out a new newsletter, I hope to in the next week. New spring is in the store, and limited quanties of spring pips are left. Well not yet - 12 or so more weeks :) ... Anyway I have been busy finding some new treasures for the store since we all like to look at the season ahead :) ... found some PrImiTive RabBiTs, EgG TreE, Garlands and a wreath, some other goodies are being added. Some new prim dolls are also in the store now, Margaret is my favorite :) ...
Hard to believe the holidays are now over. Yes, I still have my Christmas up, but it is coming down shortly ~ My goal is to get rid of the old that I just don't put out anymore and put the Christmas away nicely .. sometimes I am just not organized enough! I look forward to Valentines, such a simple little seasonal change out! I just got the most adorable cupid, I will take a pic and share it with you on the next blog....I might even get some pics of the house on the blog also ... I love looking at everyone elses, so now its time for me to post!

Hello to all and Happy New Year! Short blog today - I am sorry it has been awhile! Holidays were busy but good, hope your were delightful too!
My store has stayed busy, I am so happy and thankful to all the wonderful new friends I have made! I love what I do, and everyone is letting me know how delighted they are with their purchases :)
I do have new things coming and hope I have them posted in a week at the latest. New items include lamps, candle holders, bunnies, primitive needfuls & more so please check back.

I am so sorry there has been no post from me in the last week or two! As everyone is, just busy- busy - busy! It happens this time of year! Busy as always with the site, which I am thankful for! I hope that everyone is enjoying the start of this season, it is so important to stop and enjoy all the little moments. My house it somewhat decorated, I will rearrange some things !~sometimes you just need to be in the right mood for it all to set just right.

I do have a new inexpensive gift idea, it is the gift of a Bayberry Votive Candle. As I look back on this past year ~ I have much to be thankful for. We have our health, home and most of the time happiness. We have our faith, family and friends, and most of all we share alot of love with each other, sometimes it is hard, but at the end of the day there is love in our home and that is most important when raising a family. This year has gone by what seems to be very fast for me. I always say it is because the kids are in school and sometimes life is a blur. This Thanksgving will be spent with my family, a small gathering but lots of great food. I hope wherever you may be that your day is full of blessings ~ Life is hard, but for one day let us feel all of God's blessings.
I am excited that today I received my copy of Country Sampler, January 2011 issue has me on page 58 and a few of the items in my store ~ so exciting for me for this is my first ad. Wish me luck ~
No pics to post today ~ Enjoy your weekend, it will be a long one! I will be up early for Black Friday ... yep gotta love getting up early and shop! Eventhough we need nothing ~ LOL.

Found my cord! Yeah! Was able to download my pictures ~ I am sharing Adam's first band concert, of course Murphy had to take the photo too ... Zach and Murphy (A boy's best friend) ... Adam as a baseball player (he really thought out this years costume (LOL) and our carved pumpkins ... Then there is Murphy in his Pirate's Hat (lasted for about a minute - but he is a ham when it comes to a photo oppertunity! ...Lastly my goose in her Pilgrim atire, yep another Halloween has come and gone! I am thrilled that the sun is shining still on us and mild temps!

Okay back to work! Halloween is down in my house ... time to dust then find the Pilgrims and Turkey's!

"ALL SAINT'S DAY"

When I think about it I just can't believe how fast the seasons go. I think I blogged about this before, having children just make the time go so fast sometimes. I thought to myself a couple of days ago on how I took my children trick or treating, with the wagon and the dog, and I really thought to myself I hope that I enjoyed that moment in my life. Brings tears sometimes to my eyes ... all I ever wanted was to be a "Mom" and here it is ... am I enjoying it enough? I have been so blessed, and do thank God for it, but I hope that I am not getting to caught up in the bad moments that it overshadows the good stuff! I belong to a group at my church, St. Mary's, and these ladies that I meet really help me understand some of these times in my life. We each help each other in a way...another blessing in my life. Well today is All Saints Day ~ A time to reflect, for me it was at Eucharistic Adoration to beable to sit and be still for a moment in a darkened church, a special time for me.

On another note, the Halloween is down outside, my goose is dressed in her pilgrim outfit. Such a peaceful time, pilgrims and turkies ~ As my readers know ... I love the fall. Tomorrow I will take down the inside stuff, and yes purge the old stuff. I will be donating it to a local second hand store. I am doing well with this area in my life, one big box, a black bag full of clothing and I think one more box will be ready to go on Wednesday! My children are home three days this week ~ teacher conferences. I hope the weather can hold out for a couple of more days of football. So it will be a busier week.

Projects I am working on ... my Primitive Snowman Hats ~ sold a few on ETSY ... wow! Very HaPpY! So working on those since winter decorating is upon us! I have my regular orders to fill, which I am blessed to have... I love my website, love my store, and all the friends that I get to meet through there. Picture posted is my winter tree bowl fillers listed on ETSY, love the pRiM! I also have a newer project, little woolies ... ornaments ~ mittens and stockings, so prim for your tree. I can't post any pics since my son lost the camera cord, need to find it ASAP!

Windy Day!

Holy Cow was it windy around here today! Wild winds produced up to 60 mph ... say goodbye to my halloween decor ... it is in the garage for now! Poor Murph had a hard time going out today ~ his poor ears just flapping away! The rains were very hard at times, but we needed it, has not rained for awhile so its good for the fall. Fall leaves are scarce, so I am glad we enjoyed the color changes while we did. Needless to say not much raking will need to be done :) ... anyway just sharing some news of the day with you ~ I am thankful today, it is the one year anninversary for my husband to be working, (Wonderful Company too!) after a three year period of being out of a job. So many still out of work, or their future unknown, so I know how scarry it is ~ Today I am thankful and share the words of encouragement, that everything will be okay, it may not work out the way you want it to, and have to be accepting of it, but all is okay. Hello All ~ Hope today brought you a little sunshine :0) ... another beautiful fall day around here ~ we are so lucky! Sunshine is the best medicine! Today was a busy day for me ... attended my bible study with my friends at church, love this group of ladies, we have so much in common and really know what each other feels at times ... I think its great therapy :0) ... then I decided instead of running around doing mindless errands I would come home ... Murphy and I decided to rearrange the family room for the next season ... he found some of his long lost toys ... for me its a good way to do some cleaning ... it also gives me a lift. I am trying each day to "purge" starting slowly but my goal is 10 things a day, and they can be small things, they either go into a big box that will go to Goodwill, or see if anyone can use it...I feel weighed down sometimes with the clutter. Took some new photos of my house, when I posted the last I did not like how some things were so I switched it! Sometimes you need a photo to see what is wrong with a grouping. Well that is enough chatter for now, I have to finish preparing dinner before honey is home :) Meatloaf tonight ... haven't had it since last season! Which also by the way we will be celebrating a year of employment on the 26th! So much to be thankful for! Well until I blog again may your day be full of little blessings ~ Bobbie

What a beautiful day today ~ Love the sunshine in my neck of the woods ... great day to watch some football (of course the BEARS) ... make something good in a crock (which I am not! LOL, we are going out to dinner tonight ..yeah!) ...and a great day to post some pics of the house and the halloween spirit! There are a few, comments welcomed! I love to decorate, this year not so much, I am feeling simple this year! Plus I have a few new treasures that I just wanted to admire :) ... Mr. Jackson is a headless guy and Ms. Gretchen with her pumpkin head ... love these new dolls! A few other additions, the white pumpkin and a sign or two! I am in the midst of rearranging some wall groupings so I can paint, would love to before the holidays...we will see about that! Last night we went to a "haunted house" someone in one of the subdivisions goes all out for halloween ~ Love his house, very spooky and very well done! My if only I could accomplish that! We will settle for our tiny graveyard, spooky kitty, spooky tree and cat eyes in the windows! A few light ups here and there ...Love to see the halloween spirit all around!

Hello all ~ Catching up with the blog today :) Today I stayed busy around the house ... trying to decorate a little more for halloween :) I will take some pics and share with you soon ... the new photos for today is my niece's wedding that was this past weekend, what a beautiful weather day she had ~ took a risk with it being a outdoor wedding in October! Sunday we packed up the boys and Murphy and headed out to the country for a few craft fairs ~ Love this time of the year! Found some new treasures :) Our Murphy did so well being around new people, and boy were there the crowds ... good training for him :0) ...Today I was able to finish up some orders, and finally finish the Candle Night Light that I promised awhile back! I grubbied it in my mixture and it really turned out cool! It is now listed in my store for $9.99 plus shipping and handeling. Wow .... September flew by! Kids are in school for about 6 weeks now and my life feels like it fast forwarded! My oldest is on a "8th" grade field trip to Springfield, IL and he is happy :) LOVES history and I know he will enjoy this one...of course it helps that he is on a beautiful motor coach bus, stopping for dinner at the local buffet and just being with his school friends!He left at 5:30 this morning and will be back late tonight. I said a prayer that they all will be safe.

It is a beautiful Fall day is here in Huntley (except for the clouds that just rolled in) and I am inside cleaning house! Also finishing some orders and of course playing with Murphy. Had to post a few new pics of him ... he is getting big...4 months and 35 lbs. Most of the halloween decorating is done outside courtesy of my younger son, he loves a spooky house...I tried this year. I am hoping to go to a fall festival this weekend, but time is always short for us with baseball. My neice gets married the following weekend, Columbus Day weekend and that is a huge crafting weekend! She forgot to consult me ..LOL. Hopefully it will be a beautiful day for her. Well anyday you get married is a beautiful one.

Phew... the Bears just scored! Won't be a shut out against the Packers if they do happen to win ... love Monday Night Football ~ don't know why but I do! Maybe because I love the Fall and it is Football weather afterall! Today brought plenty of sunshine and cool temps so my pumpkins will stop melting and mums will come back to life! Started to decorate outside for Halloween ... just need to get the "graveyard" together. My kids are requesting a spookier house this year so we will see what Mom can do! I will post some pics when done. As for the indoors it is about 25% decorated only because of the new things I bought! LOL have to go down and get the boxes ...and yes I dread it. I LOVE to decorate Love everything about the season but this year it is just lagging ~ maybe because I have been sick, kids sick and the care of my parents, which has not been much I am sorry to say lately...but all is good. I have put much time into my kids between school work and sports, Religious Ed and so forth. I am always on the run as most of us are that have kids and outside activities...no complaints :) this is always what I wanted to be! Anyway with that being said I am busy myself with the store ... new things are coming and going ...and some great needfuls are listed...if I ever figure out how to add to the site the pictures and items will be there soon! Sometimes I am so computer illiterate!

He is four months already! And about 36 lbs! He is halfway to his ideal weight, please no more! I dont want the 100 lb Lab! A New Member of the Family

We have a new member of our family, a 10 week old male yellow lab! His name is Murphy and we love him so much already ... For those that know me we had a chocolate lab named Bailey that we had to put down two years ago. It has been hard and she is missed so much. My husband and I share many great moments in our life with that doggie! If you seen the movie Marley and Me, that was our story almost exactly. She was our "first" and had a mind of her own...I remember moments of me just getting my little Adam to sleep after a battle of overtierdness and she would start barking at a squirrel or whatever else ... I wanted to strangle her but afterall I knew she was "protecting" us. This little guy I hope will give us many memories with the kids who are now a bit older. Zach loves him and now has discovered how hard it is to take care of a 'baby" ...newness has not warn off but he feels the tierdness of getting up with him and watching him like a hawk so he doesn't get into mischief!

For Country Store at Your Door news, I am switching my server sometime this week, the change should not cause any delays but just in case email me if you are having a hard time viewing the store ... I am still open 24/7. Be sure to check out the new fall things available ... decorating is right around the corner! I personally bought a fall goose outfit today ~ SHE needed something new to wear! End of a weekend ...

Well it is Sunday night already ... a bit muggy in my neck of the woods ~ fighting the mosquitos as I try to water some flowers outside! Ugh hate those guys! Anyway it was a nice weekend, not too much that I did, but managed to "help" the kids and their bedrooms! It was getting a bit messy! I feel so much better when things are in order!

I am working on a new project, Candlestick Nightlights, they will be available in my store soon ~ They are just a wonderful new light to add to your home ~ about 3" tall and each have a black base and the candlestick and tip have been dipped muliple times in my wax. They say these will last 11 years! It is a LED light, energy efficient...using only $.12 a year based on a $.08 per KWHR. This LED is brighter than the ones you see on the market. Give your kitchen, bathroom or hallway a little prim lighting at a great low cost! I think they are so pretty. Each one is hand-dipped and will not look exactly the same.

A Wonderful Thursday ...

Started with a miserable headache .. thank goodness for McDonalds iced coffee to make me feel better :) !! The house is now loaded with kids doing voices for Zach's new stop motion video that he has been working on ... I am happy that he has a interest in video making. It is a nice summer day ~ sun is shining and low humidity ... would love to sit out for awhile but too much to do on the inside.

The decision has been made, thankfully, of who will care for my mom while dad is recovering. It is a big lift off my mind. I hope that all will go well ~ keep saying those prayers!

Country Store is keeping busy, some new fall things have been added ... I love the mini resin pumpkins and the sheep mat ~ and the cutest pumpkin doll! Just darling to put on a table. I received my headless horseman last week from a fellow primitive crafter, Kindered Spirits ... I LOVE him and he is sitting on a shelf ~ too cute to put away eventhough he doesn't belong yet!

Tonight I have a book club get together, the book was "Left to Tell" very insightful, very inspiring that through prayer all things are possible.

Well I dropped off my items to Country Sampler today ~ I made up a new basket for the winter/christmas season .. then the mantel runner with the snowmen and cardinals will be joining in .. along with two of the wood snowmen plates ~ hits newstands mid November ..Dec/Jan 2011 issue. Wish me luck!

Had a nice lunch with hubby, but he did not let me visit any of my favorite country stores along the way :( ... there is always next time ~ without hom! :) ...

Anyway some new family news to share ... I will be a Great Aunt! My neice is having her first baby in February ... I am too young to be a great auntie !! LOL. I just pray all will go well ...

It is very humid around here today .. some of my flowers are happy and some not so much...the grass is however green from all the rain. ....but here comes the weeds ...I will have to get out there soon! Also have a new "friend" digging their way under our window well ~ don't know who it is but will soon be evicted!

Adam's first run! Whee--!!

Sorry All, no updates! WOW August 2, 2010 already! Had a few nice days away with my family in the Wisconsin Dells. I am posting a few pics. Adam's 11th birthday was on the Monday and he and his brother got to go Zip Lining! Whoo-hoo! They had fun. This was the last of our getaways and we had some fun in the sun and water. Now its time to start to get into the "school" mode. Another year is upon us and wonder what it will bring. Yesterday was my mother-in-laws 75th birthday .. spent the day with family, which was nice since we don't see everyone often. Boys had fun seeing their cousins. Summer is just fun I say!

I am busy with the store, continuing to strive with all that I have. Always thinking of some new ideas to bring to the table ~ as all I am sure are! Fall is upon us and there is some very nice things out in the market! I do love the fall for decorating ... it is one of my favorites. Today is going to be in the 90's .. so talking about the fall weather is cooling me down a bit! Today I am off to my Mother's to do her hair. Saturday I sprayed for Ants and grocery shopped for them ... kinda quiet but I know its about to errupt! Dad's surgery is coming fast and decisions are still being made of who will care for my Mom while Dad is gone. Heavy Heart I have when I think about it. I will also make my way to church for Eucaristic Adoration ~ love the church when it is dark and quiet and all you do is think and pray... one time my boys stay totally quiet! Did you ever think that you were doing something nice for someone and they turn around and write you a very unfriendly note back? I always thought of myself as being helpful and just generally nice but I was stunned today with an exchange ~ won't go further but I feel kinda sad about it....I really didn't do anything wrong especially when it was welcomed ~ oh well life goes on.

I do hope that you are having a good day yourself ~ this weekend we will take a few days to be with our kids at a waterpark .. they love it and it is a little realxing for us now that they are older. I wll be available to answer any questions just no shipping until Thursday.

I have (I think) finally decided what will go into the Country Sampler magazine (Distribution third week of Novemeber) ~ I wanted to stay with somethings that can be kept out longer in the season, and be used all year long ..so the three are chosen ... a mantle runner that features snowmen and cardinals, my snowman twig basket for a wall or table with removeable candy cane (different styles are available) and the glass votive/tealight holder that comes with a battery tealight. Hopefully the designers will make these look nice together! I bet they will! I love this magazine.

Well I am off to do some grocery shopping for my parents, my mom is home and doing well ... we have some help a few days a week but my Dad really needs more than what I can give at this time ... wish me luck on finding someone!

Hello Friends! Today was a busy day for me ... working on my website, still figuring out what to put in Country Sampler, and just updating ... did however manage some time in the sun, and of course some house cleaning! It is summer, so I lag on that sometimes! I at least did a little rearranging .. you know me I love to do that! My candle order arrived today with a couple of new things ... Pantry Melts ~ love them! I have them in lavender and 1821 and are they fragrant! Check under candles for those. They look great in a bowl, shelf or a crock. You would not believe how fragrant the room smells (of course I had to try them out!) they can also be used in your wax warmers ... Another candle I ordered is my ever so popular log cabin, this time in a grungy jar so it is versatile ~ once the candle is done being used drop in a votive or even a battery taper for a nice glow to a great primitive candle holder! I am expecting another order in on Friday, so I will be busy stocking for part of the day ~ but I do have my "helpers"!

I am thinking to myself that the summer is going by so fast now ~ before I know it the boys will be in school ~ another school year to make me feel old! LOL. August is around the corner. My it was warm this weekend .. but I will take it over the long winter months! Not much to our weekend ... busy with just family "stuff" ... tonight however I am busy with the store. I am figuring out what I am going to put into the Country Sampler issue that will be on the stands the 3 week of November ... I think it will be a snowman, mantle runner and maybe this mantle clock ... big decisions to make! I have been busy adding things to the store as well ... yes Fall and Winter will approach quickly. I did manage to get out to a new Country Store that I have not been to, but happy I made the trip ~ what a lovely place just to roam around. Of course I bought a couple of things, but of course with my birthday money that I am saving for these kind of days! I am also in the thinking process of changing some things around in my house ~ kinda getting the itch to change around the furniture..if you know me I love to rearrange! I will see what I can get done this week for it will be a busy one with my mom coming home and of course the kids being home ... I will miss them when they start school ... Disney Vacation 2010 - Epcot, it was soOo hot!!

Zach and Adam on Father's Day (Brotherly Love)

Starting out with clouds ~ and it is humid! Ugh. Well got up and went grocery shopping early, so the popsicles wouldn't melt for the boys! Had to re-stock, for it is summer in full swing around here with the kids ... I am off to see my Mom, she will be coming home on Tuesday ~ its been a long couple of weeks but it is best for her, and my dad I am sorry to say it gives him a much needed break. We thankfully now will have some extra help coming in to assist in taking care of her. It will be 6 years tomorrow since her stroke happened. We are lucky to still have her, but I will admit it is hard sometimes....alot of prayers are needed always! She suffered it fairly young (59) and not a day goes by that I just wonder why. I feel bad for my parents that they can't enjoy retirement like so many others get to, so my philosophy is enjoy it when you can for you never know what today will bring.
It is two years since we lost our Bailey .. our sweet chocolate lab ~ she was alot like the movie Marley and Me ... she was our first. My husband and I still laugh at when we went to get her him saying "How are we ever going to take care of a dog?" Two kids and almost 17 years later here we are. Time goes fast and I miss her dearly. My oldest is begging for another pup, just can't do it yet, but I am sure we will be broken by the end of summer.
I also wanted to share a little something that a friend wrote on her facebook page .. I really like it. Thanks Laura Gillespie!!

There comes a time in life when you walk away from all the pointless drama and people who create it, and surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard that you forget the bad and focus on the good. Life is too short to be anything but happy!

Friday Night Outing ..

Just wanted to share a few pictures of my sons baseball team outing ~ I am a true Cubs fan, but had the opportunity to go to the White Sox game with my sons baseball team ... it was very cool ~ we got to walk on the field ...he loved it! Spent lots of time with his friends that he has met, and hopes to keep up with the friendships! He had a great season with this team, and so did I as a "Mom"! The night was finished off with fireworks that were absolutely fabulous. Tonight we are off to see the Gin Blossoms at our local Rib Fest ... then tomorrow we will hopefully just relax a bit and visit with my mom in the hospital rehab, she is recovering from MRSA ... anyway hope your day is going well! And what will today bring to me I ask myself? Sunny skies but rain in the forecast, a bit warm today -- mid 80's and humid. Not my favorite weather but I will take it over the cold and snow. My flowers are trying their hardest to stay with me but I think some have to go ... how pretty it looks in the beginning of planting season! Oh well, guess they will need a "haircut"! LOL. I can't believe that July 4th has come and gone, and yes the boys feel the countdown has begun! Hope not to quickly. My younger son and I are going to the White Sox game tomorrow night with some of his teammates and Mom's ... it will be fun, but I am a CUB fan and that won't change! But it was a good deal and it is time spent with just one of my boys. Saturday is the local Rotary Rib Fest and I am looking forward to it ... one of the bands that will be there are the Gin Blossoms! I love this band and will be happy to enjoy a night out with my neighbors and friends ... oh and the kids! After last weekend of it being uneventful for the 4th, I feel like we will be out doing something for this one! The weekends go by so fast! My big 40 was nice, can't remember if I blogged about it ...LOL old age! Few friends and family, nice and quaint. My hubby actually bought me a stitchery that I was eyeing from someone on Ebay! He made sure he won it for me! "Growing old can be fun if you do it with the right people" how sweet and true. I am posting the picture of it along with where I put it!

Today I will also be going to visit my Mom, we had to move her to a skilled facility (rehab) for about 10 days, so I need to wash her hair today ~ that always makes someone feel better :) I try my best but sometimes I don't feel like I am! The boys will make the trip to see Grandma as well. Please say a prayer for her, and me!

And lastly, if you have not already please come and see the store, I added some new tapers both battery and regular. I also have some new grubby silicone light strands that would look great on your pip garlands! These are very popular!

Beautiful Start ..

What another sunshine day! Just beautiful ... Yesterday we spent the day at Six Flags with our neighbor friends and kids (9 of them with their friends!) and the day had arrived where we adults went one way and they went the other ... wow my boys are growing up! They all had a great day together ... my oldest is still sleeping!
Just an update that Zach won his game on Tuesday night ... we could not be prouder of him. He went 4 for 4 and drove in 4 of the 21 runs for the game. They are in the championship game set for Friday night. Yes, please give another prayer to the Pirates, they are the underdogs. It is nice for my son to be on a winning team!
I can't believe that it is already another holiday weekend! Please summer don't go by too quickly! Whatever your plans are for the holiday I hope they are fun and safe. Until I blog again have a blessful day! ~~ Bobbie

After having a very nice weekend we start yet another week off right. The weather is beautiful, low humidity with sunny skies, that makes anyone smile! For most of the week around here, it will be nice, so the weatherman says! My flowers are looking nice still, the hot sun hasn't gotten to them yet ~ that makes me happy! My big 40 has come and gone, and is was really a nice Saturday for me. My youngest had a great game, but did not make the playoffs, and my older one had also a great game, drove in 3 runs and his team did make it to the next round. Give him a prayer for Tuesdays game that they make the next round ... they will play the Red Sox. I am very proud of my boys. This week I also will take a break one day to go to Six Flags with the kids and hubby along with wonderful neighbor friends of ours and their kids ... should be a nice family outing...its nice to be outdoors with having such a long winter!

HElloooo ALL!
Wow my how time does fly. I am sorry for no updates. All is well in my home lately. We just came home from out family vacation to Disney World, it was long overdue since hubby was out of work for so long. We all appreciated it and are happy to be home.... for all you in the south how do you deal with the humidity! LOL! I thought I was not going to make it home! Today I am catching up on some business and what a day to do it for it is raining here :( .... maybe the Florida sunshine is not so bad right now. Anyway The Boys are HAPPY to be on summer vacation as I am sure all kids are. Don't know of "their" plans other than hanging out with neighborhood friends. For me I hope to accomplish some more red/white/blue prims and start on some fall! My site is going to be updated with some new things this week, a door board, pantry boxes and another summer picture or two. Wherever you are I hope that your enjoying your day! Hello to all my friends! I sure hope that your new year is starting out well. For me it has been, so far so good ...my boys have have been well, no major illness to speak of (cross my fingers, winter is still here!) My youngest is on a undefeated basketball team ...(so far) so he is so happy to be apart of a winning team and my hubby just celebrated his 43rd birthday ... we are blessed with employment, so reason to celebrate. It has been a long hard road for us but it made us a more stronger and faithful family. He started the job back in October and could not be happier. Please for anyone reading this and going through a hard time know that all will get better. Stay strong and stay busy and most of all pray. The winter is getting long, for most of us in the midwest we get ansy at this time for the first sign of spring. Today is not that day for it is snowing :(. 6 more weeks, so Phil says! I am keeping busy with adding many new products to the store, some really nice new things from the vendors that I use. I am happy with the selection, but know if you are looking for something and you dont see it here, please email me and I will find it for you or lead you in the right direction! I had an email today looking for the labels I use on my grungy jars and I put her on the path of where to find them. I love to help out my fellow crafters out there! It has been awhile since my last blog ... I am sorry for that ... busy of course with everything. I am taking a break in preperation for my upcoming two day show. ... it will be my first time doing this one so wish me luck ... it is very hard to do this right at the holiday time ... what was I thinking when I signed up for it? LOL ... anyway I am enjoying some new creativity. If I had my camera I would take some pics for you to see and put them in my store ... the camera went AWOL ... well ... Adam's first basketball game is tonight and I will beable to make it ... he loves the game ... I think today it is time to take down some of the fall and Thanksgiving and make way for Christmas ...Usually I do not do it this early but I feel I am going to run behind. With the show taking up my first weekend in December it really cuts me down in time. I have had so much inspiration from reading others blogs this morning. I am having luch with a friend today ...so that may interrupt the momentum. As long as I can get it away I would be happy :) that is half the battle. I am not hosting Thanksgiving, usually my sister gets that day so I think to myself why keep this out any longer. Maybe it will inspire me to do more things that I have been meaning to get to. I did get one of my orders in so I can now complete my santa boots ...I have a vision of how they will turn out so let us see ~ Not too much else to report on the crafting part...December will sure be a busy month ... looking ahead I have a few Christmas parties to enjoy with my hubbies new company that he works for, my sons last party in school (he is in 5th grade so these are his last ones) My mom turns 65 on Christmas so I am planning a Christmas/surprise party for her, (of course with the help of my sister), & my mother-in-law usually has the whole family over the Saturday before the christmas ...so I say I am going to be even more busy! Which is good! Anyway have to start on my home ...blog with you soon ... ~Bobbie

November in full bloom

Well it has been awhile since I wrote. Lots of blessings are coming to the Horan household lately. The biggest one is my hubby getting a job after what seemed to be hopeless in this economy... the Lord has surely blessed us. Prayers do work. He is starting his fourth week and still it seems like a dream. I am starting to settle back into my routine with the kids and normal household things. A few weeks back I did a show that was wonderful. It was my first official school craft fair and things could not have run more smoothly for me. I am crafting for the next one which will be the first weekend of December. I will be featuring some german twig trees, sleighs with lights, snowman baskets and a few other oddities. I am looking forward to this event. I am also looking forward to decorating my house for the season. I have some new ideas and some furniture to re-arrange. This past weekend I got to do something for me, and that was take a ride to my favorite little primitive country store and pick out a new snowman to come home with me. I love him already and can't wait to set him out. I always make sure that they can stick around for awhile after christmas, for winter is still with us for a few more months. What a day ... peaceful for me to set out my Thanksgiving things and rearrange some furniture that I have been meaning to do. My order did not come in so I was not able to get those Christmas Trees started ...but that is okay for I needed a day to be in the house transforming it...and of course dusting! First Day of November ~ All Saints Day

The day started early, unintentionally, with the time change we found ourselves at the 7:30 am mass instead of the usual 9am ...then a quick McDonalds breakfast, back home to take down the halloween, if you know me I just can't leave it up past a day after halloween on the outside. For some reason this is the only seasonal thing I feel I need to switch the day after! Christmas, Valentines, Easter and the Red/White and Blue can stay past the day, but for some reason the halloween just can't! Call me crazy. Anyway the Pilgrims are out, the goose is dressed now it is time for Turkey Day to come...not to quick though! Took the boys clothes shopping ..they "Needed" a couple of new shirts for school and we just had the chance to hang out together while Dad was home watching the Bears game...alone. The week will be busy one for me ...The kids are off for 3 days this week for conferences, I am hosting our Bunco group Friday night, so I need to prepare some goodies for that (and clean my house!) and of course I have my Holiday show on Saturday... so I have some more things to get together....hopefully my trees will be in so I can get those together :) ~ I will be a busy one this week which is good for me! Happy Halloween to all! Wow October 31st already! Where has this month gone to? Well I know I have been just busy around the home with the kids, and getting ready for some upcoming shows. I wanted today to post some of the halloween pics of my two boys (Adam, 10 and Zach 12) ...and the house that is totally wind blown from todays weather! That's okay ~ we still had some fun. This year the pumpkin carving was taken from the Adam's Family ~ we love that movie! The weather around here just as not been nice at all. Time for Snowmen

Hello to all! It has been awhile and I am sorry since my last blog! Keeping busy with my family and preparing for the next show ~ My youngest had surgery last week that I had to tend to ...and he is on the mend. The weather this week has been not so nice ...rain, rain go away! We just have not had the best fall around my neck of the woods. Anyway I have been putting together some of my twig wall baskets with snowmen, gingerbread and candy canes ...along with a beeswax battery candle ...they are darling. I am posting one of them here ...I will have one style in my store and a variety at the next show (priced from $35 and up) ...come and join me November 7th at St. Thomas More in Elgin....many wonderful crafters will be there which is sure to be a busy day....time to start that Christmas shopping! I will also have some of the last pumpkins with crows for the rest of the harvest season ...they too are adorable. I am busy working on Winter and Christmas so be sure to check out my store. October ...Already?

It seems like yesterday that I was waiting for Spring to arrive ... and now it is the first week in October! The mums are in full bloom ... the chill is in the air....and the leaves on my front tree are starting to change....am I ready for this new season to be here I ask myself. It is my favorite time of the year, but for some reason this year is different for me. My home that is always done in the season is done simly this time and for the halloween, well I can say I got the outside decorated tonight and it looks nice. Maybe tomorrow some of my witchy things will come out and scatter about. I think that I am crafting so much for the next few shows that I am just too busy to do my own stuff. I love what I have been doing and maybe that is where my heart has been. Keeping all that I want to accomplish is sometimes harder than what it seems to be. It is time to get back to work after this weeks Fall Fest and Farmer's Market in Richmond. Everything worked out just fine weather wise and I met many new friends, I am very appreciative to all my new friends of my store. This week, I will continue on some new projects, finish up some old ones and of course take care of my family! Tonight is CCD which I co-teach and really enjoy it. 5th graders are alot of fun to be with. I am posting a pic of the fair along with this weeks spotlight item to purchase. This is my snowman, sitting in a wreath with pips and and stained hang tag. Approx. 7" tall and 4" wide. Assorted styles available, one with a broom, shovel or a sign. Another Busy Day

Boy have I been busy working away at my prims for this weeks fall fest. I have had little time for some updates. I wanted to post my witch cauldron that I love! It is hand-stitched and as grungy as a cauldron can get ...some sweet pumpkin pips are added and don't forget to stir up this brew with two grungy candles and a cinnamon stick. About 10" wide and 10" tall...a sure great piece to add to that halloween decor. I will be listing it in my store and on Etsy. Beautiful Pumpkin Squash & Ghourds

What a beautiful array of colors I found at my local grocer ... love the little white pumpkins ... they are so perfect and the bright pumpkin squash ...had to add a couple of ghords to the mix. I bought these to put out in my planters ... but they look so nice in my treen bowl on the coffee table that I think they will stay inside. The kitty kinda like them ... they must have the earthy smell to them! Anyway had to take a photo ... of course a few more to liven up the blog today! My little "keeper" made his way into the pics as well! I can't believe how my little guy is growing up! Adam has started the fifth grade out well (so far)! He is lovin his teachers, and classmates and the overall routine of fifth grade. Anyway wanted to share with you today ... hope your day is going well ~ mine will continue with some housework, crafting and ending with baseball tonight ... boys have a game and what a beautiful day to have it...sunshine all about! Dinner is in the crock pot ... just a roast which 3 out of the 4 in our family will eat! Mr. Keeper will not ... grilled cheese again for him! I think that is why he stays so darn skinny!! Music on my Blog

I just read a complaint about music playing on websites and blogs. I am sorry if it offends anyone out there. My feeling is this, it is not on my website but it is obviously on my blog. Blogging is a personal touch to who you are and what you like. On my website I don't have it for a couple of reasons, one is if you are shopping while at work It is less distracting. Also, websites reach a wide variety of people that are shopping on this site for a variety of reasons and I choose not put music on it. I am a primitive/country site ~ uplifting sometimes to "shop" I think that store owners want you to have a cozy feeling of being in their store and it is in a form of welcoming eventhough you are not in a brick and mortar shop. I was just amused in the fact that this person had to say that they would not spend their money in someones store that plays music on the site and/or the blog....now isn't that silly ...you shop in brick and mortar stores (ie: Walmart) don't ya? You can't turn it off there but certainly on the site that you are visiting ... oh well that is my feelings and wanted to state this to anyone reading my blog ... I don't do it to annoy or push anyone away and sorry if it offends! ~~Bobbie Have a peaceful rest of your day!

Finally Decorating For Fall...

Well it has been a busy week ... and some lack of motivation to get some of my fall things out and into groupings ... I love this time of the year and love to change around my home but this week took some pushing .... and really it is not done! I love to take pictures because you can see through them what looks nice together and what just does not belong. You may think it looks good but just does not look right in that photo! I love digital cameras! Anyway I took a few of my favorite little guys that resurrected from their storage bin ... some oldies and one new one for this year ...courtesy of my Mom ~ thanks Mom! How pRimitiVe these have turned out! I have them listed in my store as well as Etsy. These are a delight to prim up for your gatherings ...so cool with the battery tealight! I love the labels ...they are unique and OOAK. These are big sellers at my shows so I have decided to also include them in my store. Nice weather weekend!

What a beautiful weekend it was this past Labor Day. Yes, a few clouds .... no rain and some nice sunshine was in our forecast. I had a very nice show at the local Farmer's Market Saturday morning, thanks to all my wonderful repeat and new customers! It is really nice to meet people that love the things that I do! We had a nice time at our neighbors/friends BBQ ~ great food and new people we met and a spectacular fireworks show put on by neighboring Lake in the Hills. We finsihed the weekend with a simple grill-out with my parents. A nice three days ... the boys had a nice time going the Lake in the Hills (aka Sunset Park) festival on their own (of course with a group of friends) just no Mom and Dad watching over them. Anyway the Red/White and Blue days are now over, time to change it out for the fall things ~ my favorite time ~ I am late in decorating ...had some orders to fill and just "stuff" to do! Hopefully my home will be done by the end of the week and I can post some pictures! I am ordering new candles for the fall and some rosehips ... and other small items to add to the season so be sure to come and check them out! Hello to all my bloggers! Happy Labor Day weekend to you! I hope you all have some nice plans for the holiday. For me I will be busy Saturday at the Huntley Farmer's Market in the morning then hopefully I want to decorate my home for the fall ~ I am late! My mums are outside but nothing in house! Anyway I am still busy crafting away ~ enjoying some new things for the fall season ... and I did a really cool set of stacking boxes ... check them out. I have them listed on ETSY as well as in my store. I will be finishing off my weekend with a BBQ by friends followed up with a fireworks show in our neck of the woods. We are also welcoming my Mom home from rehab this weekend ... she had a couple week stay to regain some strength after a pace-maker was put in. A few winter/everyday and fall things ...I bought some beautiful mums today at Walmart ~ I needed some more color in the front for my petunias are ready to say goodbye for the season! Hmm...Tuesday already! I am busy working on some witch hat ornies and finished my prim wreaths! I am finally getting to WORK! I will be at the Huntley Farmer's Market this Saturday...those that are close mark down the date ... there are some activities planned and entertainment ...check out Huntley's website for the details. I went browsing through one of teh few country stores that are left in my area today ...so refreshing. I did manage to find a unique witch hat made from a rusty tin, a couple of witch cork coasters and one little scarecrow plate ...yep I love other peoples finds too! I was reading in my Country Business magazine this week about the economy and what is suffering, I know we are personally with my hubby out of work, but I like the others are finding other ways to give a lift to oneself and that is small indulgences...like fragrances, small items for around the home, and seasonal merchandise. They are saying the small ticket items are the ones that people are buying for it gives them the little left they need sometimes...I know I need it. I have my faith also, that this all will work out for us in maybe not the way I would want, but maybe what will be best for my family. Many lessons are learned on ones' journey and you have to be quiet for a moment to listen. Well that is all for now, I will post some pics of my finds and of the wreaths and hats that I finally finished ..yippee!!

Good Monday to all! Well I have been busy doing absolutely nothing today! Well I shouldn't say that I did mangage to sew a few things ...and check out some other Blogs ...I love to read up on everyone which I have not been doing lately ... but then again I do have more time with the kids back in school. Today turned out to be a very sunny day around here ...harsh on the eyes I might say but I am not complaining ...it did get down to 45 degrees last night (Brrr!) so the pool got drained today ~ sorry to see the end of summer go. Labor day is upon us so we do have some plans ... my second to last time for the Farmer's Market this season. It has been a interesting summer at the market which I have to say I truly enjoyed. Well off to a busy week with the kids back to a full week of school and not to mention Fall baseball season is upon us !~ I love it though for my kids are growing up all too fast. Anyway it has been a busy few weeks with just normal everyday things and of course fall crafting season is upon us all! I have some new Fall items in the store, handmades on ETSY and getting ready for the next few craft shows that I am apart of. Hello everyone! Well it is school time in my household ... my how the summer has flown by. The boys start school tomorrow and I think they are happy to begin a new grade, see their friends and have a schedule again. Homework not so much, but it goes with the territory. I have been busy with family life this summer leaving little for my creativity. I do have many new fall items in my store as well as some winter. The tarts for the warmers are wonderful and have been very popular this summer. My has the summer been flying by. I am sorry for the lack of blogging. The summer has gone by fast, the weather so-so. The boys have about a week and a half til they start school and they just can't wait !~ LOL. I have been busy shopping with them for some back to school items and such. I have also been busy this summer helping my parents as my dad recoops from back surgery. In some of my time I have been trying to get some things done for the Fall and Winter. I have been doing well at the fairs that I have been apart of this summer. I am trying my craftiness at making some primitive dough ornaments, I think that this would be a nice economical gift for some of the people that touch us during the year. Eventhough the news may say that we are coming out of this recession, I know that it is still tough of many, including my family. Holy Cow it is the end of July already! Where has the month gone? Why does this month go so fast for us? I know the month flew for me with a mini vacation, and taking care of some family needs that are still needed ... my father had back surgery so therefore I have been helping to take care of my mother ... Thank-God for my kids, they have been a huge help to me. I am eagerly thinking of my fall ideas and getting them together. I would love to introduce them this week at the craft fair but not sure if I will beable to get them done in time. I do have some new stock items for my store such as fall pictures, star iron easels, snowmen figures, candle scents ... even a long legged santa is going to make his way to the pages. Vacation in the Dells

Wow it has been awhile since I blogged. I have spent a few days away with my family in the Wisconsin Dells. We did the usuals, the Duck tour, go-karting and lots of swimming. My boys are at the perfect age for the water slides. Weather could've been a bit better but at least it did not rain. Today I am busy preparing for the craft fair which is always a big undertaking but I do love to set up and arrange everything and I will hope for a nice day. Bobs Bean Salad

I just wanted to post this wonderful recipe I found on the internet. While browsing for something new to make for my father, on father's day, I found this one. It is a keeper and past the test of someone who loves this combination of beans. I wanted to share it on my blog for the summer time recipe if your looking for something different to make without the mayo for summer entertaining. Ironically my father's name is Bob, so it was meant to be!

12 oz. can garbonzzo beans

12 oz. can kidney beans

12 oz can pinto beans

6-7 oz. marinated artichoke hearts

(All should be drained and placed in a bowl)

red bell pepper - medium size (cut-up)

1/3 cup onion (cut-up)

2-3 oz. feta cheese

~~~~ * ~~~~
1/4 cup olive oil

1/8 cup white vinegar

1/8 cup balsamic vineger

1 tsp salt

1 tsp sugar

(whisk all together & poor over beans and peppers)

Mix & place in fridge for at least one hour for all juices to soak together. I serve the cheese on the side as an option to add.

Enjoy this tasty, refreshing and easy salad this summer! It is almost a meal in itself!

Happy Father's Day

Well, I am sure no father's out there are reading my blog today, but I do wish all your families a wonderful day whether it be a day of reflection on loved ones not here on earth, or because miles seperate you it is a beautiful summer day....well a bit on the cloudy side in my parts, hopefully some clearing up later in the day. For us our day started at church bright and early, for the boys were alter serving this AM, then took the hubby for breakfast and now just a day around the home.
I am amazed how much time has passed since my last update, I have been busy with the kids finishing school and baseball season, and just the normal start to summer with the kids. I have been doing bits of staining and painting and working with some silicone for the latest bulb project. I hope to bring some photo's soon!

June Already!

My how June has begun already ... time does go fast. Today was the last day of school for the boys... I now have a 5th and 7th grader! They made it through! They are both looking forward to a summer of playing with their neighborhood friends ... which they are doing right now. Few things are planned for us this summer, but for the most part we will be home like many in the USA this summer. For me, I am working on some new things for the store, and Farmer's market ... which by the way went well this past Saturday. I have concentrated on some wreaths that seemed to have done well. I used a crow tart on some of them that just looks adorable & prim! I will post later when I make up a few more for the next show. With the kids home it will be hard to work on some of my projects, but will have to so I can prepare for the fall season that will quickly approach. My younger one has the crafting bug so I am sure he will be joining me in the "workshop". Anyway that is all for now, just wanted to post an update since it has been over a week ... pictures are on the way of the newbies ...

Last days of May

Can you believe that May is almost over? My how the months seem to fly by. I have said it before, that I feel life goes faster when the kids are in school. My oldest will be turning 12 in about week, and entering the 7th grade come fall. Unbelievable to me since it seems I was just holding him, and watching him roll around the floor! It is hard to look at the baby pictures ... I feel like crying! LOL!! Anyway as I look back and wonder about all the things I worried about I guess they were not so bad, for it has gotten me to this point of my life...so far! Well for this week, I have been busy preparing for the next Market show coming next week, hoping for better weather this time around. I have some new garden stakes to offer as well as towel sets and runners ... can't forget the new candles too! They seemed to be a big hit, so I am hopeful. The start of summer also brings a bit of busy-ness ... between baseball, helping out with the neighborhood block party, a progressive dinner night with the neighbors, graduation parties, helping with the church picnic, and a hopeful few days away for a vacation (somewhere) keeps me busy and gives us much to look forward to this summer.

Today I am working on some new ideas for the store, as always, cleaning house, and taking the kids (and a friend) right from school to go and see Up at the theatre. We love Pixar movies and hear this is a good one. The weekend brings us to the baseball field for a game early tomorrow then hopefully home for the rest of the weekend ... I need to re-arrange some perennials that have overgrown an area. Well that is it for now, I hope that you have a nice weekend with whatever you may do! Happy Memorial Day Weekend

Hello to all my friends ... wishing you a Happy Memorial Day weekend. It is a beautiful one around my neck of the woods. Anyway been busy this week with a bunch of things. Painting, rearranging, homework, and housework. All good though. Today we spent a nice day at home and had my parents over for a cookout, when they left we decided to take the kids to see the new movie, Night at the Museum, which was good...but the first one was better. Tomorrow we are headed to the second largest parade in Illinois, Pecatonica IL. It is a very nice parade and with good weather on the way it will be enjoyable even more. I put together a new summer arrangement, I will be posting it on ETSY later, I also have some new aged crates to add too! I love the way they have turned out and the versatilty that they offer in the home. Been busy also with orders, and posting some new items to the store ... towels, runners and candles to be exact. I think that I am starting to feel something coming on, but I am not sure...it is slowing me down a bit. Anyway the weekend in my neck of the woods was a nice one. I made it to my first outdoor craft fair for this year and the weather could not have been nicer. I made some purchases like every admiring crafter does. I am excited for the new table/bench that I purchased not knowing where it would go...but if you know me I like to rearrange so it now it perfect in the family room. You will see a glimse of it in a photo that I am posting. Also found a unique bird feeder, which I am not going to use for the little guys for they are poopin' all over my front and backyard...even the kids trampoline...yuck! So it will be a decorative one out there...sorry birdies! Discovered a new bikini for the goose this year...my 11 year old picked it out, a purple one...LOL. Can't forget those dip packets that everyone seems to bring to the shows also...a few new flavors I seen for the summer, pina colada and a raspberry one YUMMY. All in all I really had quite a day at the fair! I hope that you had a nice weekend yourself! I will blog with you soon! Well so they say ... today was a dreary rainy day, again this week. I think they say the rain is gone for a few days and it will be sunny skies for us in the coming days. I think the sun brings a smile and more creativity out of me! I did manage to rearrange some tables around today, take some pics of the Americana that is starting to emerge in my home, and finish an Abe Lincoln hat that should not have taken me as long as it did for me to complete. I tell ya sometimes the ideas are flowing and it is just to get it produced. So since I live in Illinois it is fitting for me to do a few Abe Lincoln hats for the summer season. I will be doing each one a little different, I kept this one simple. It is about a 8" hat made of black felt that is stiffened and stained using my mixture that smells prim, sweet annie all around with few old glory pips scattered ... the hang tag (hung on by way of rusty pin with a bell) has a quote from Abe himself that I really like, so much that it is on my blog. "I have been driven to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go" I don't know why I like this one so much, maybe because I have, like so many others, had so many peaks and valleys in my life....so far. It is a learning experience and guess I really would not have it any other way. Sometimes the events in our life no matter how big or small do happen for a reason, may they be good or bad. Well today my friends is starting out sunny. We had some storms roll through the area last night, which I don't mind since the rain and lightning is good for the flowers ... as long as my house stays intact! Anyway, I am in a creative mood today so check back to see what I am doing... got some ideas in the Americana category ... and it involves the sewing machine! I have not seen that thing since I made a summer blanket for my mom for Mother's Day! Sometimes we just get in that slump and don't have any ideas, nor the umph to do it. I am also having lunch with some friends that I used to work with & can still call them friends eventhough we don't see each other everyday.... looking forward to it. Hello to everyone! I hope that your Mother's Day was a beautiful one. I know that I had a nice simple day spent with my boys and hubby ... and dinner with my parents. The weather was okay this weekend, and the fair on Saturday turned out better than expected. Today I am going to be working on some new ideas to enhance my Americana collection. This week I hope to be more productive in the creativity department! I have also ordered in some new candles for my store, and some new runners and towel sets. They seemed to have been a big hit at this past show and really are pretty (make nice gifts too!)
